I was a strategic litigation intern for six weeks, just after graduating from a law degree. For me, the experience of working with MDAC was extremely worthwhile - I was able to reaffirm what type of legal career I would like to pursue, as well as gaining a good overview of the internal workings of an NGO. Unlike past internships, MDAC gave me interesting work that actually contributed to something important - I researched case law from the European Court of Human Rights to assist in a submission, wrote letters to the members of the Council of Europe to help in a study concerning guardianship, and helped draft a collective complaint to the Committee on Social Rights regarding inclusive education. Each task I was given helped me learn something new, and so I am really grateful to MDAC for the experience.

Besides the work, one of the reasons for why my internship was so enjoyable was the people who also work at the center. Everyone was very friendly and treated me like I was part of the team, showing gratitude when I completed work for them. Similarly, once work was finished I got to enjoy Budapest, which is one of the most beautiful cities I have been to, with lots of things to see and do. All in all, time flew by whilst at MDAC and I wished I was able to have stayed longer!
